'You have to invest your life into your future.'
After watching an inspiring documentry about a humble man investing his life into creating master pieces of sushi and eventually his own restaurant in New York, has left me feeling as ever doubtful about my own career path. Of course, I fully understand that one needs to put in a great deal of time and effort into future plans, but I hadn't really thought of it as though you might 'fall in love' with it. Maybe that's the secret to success. It's fair to say that so far it's been a rocky start with my relationship with my future career!
I'm feeling in need of a good nights sleep and it's pretty early for me. But sleep feels like such a comforting destination at the moment.
Late October my old job have asked me if I'd like to cover some holiday time, which will be about 3 weeks. Without really thinking about it I said yes. It's not that I miss the job as such, I just miss being in London. I miss being close to where I want to be. Plus, you never know where favours can get you sometimes. I'm not expecting anything to come from it, but I'm just happy that finally I have an out from where I am at the moment and that's what I've been waiting for. Some may think it's daft to jack in my current job for 3 weeks worth of work, but I know it'll give me the boost I need whereas now, I don't feel very close at all even though I have a few more strings to my bow.
Because it will end and then I'll be back to where I was before, which to be honest, was better than where I am now (even if it is without a job!) I will have more time to devote to the application process. It's too easy to get comfortable with something you don't like.
